I am back from a wonderful, long holiday weekend. You may recall from my post on Friday that I went to visit a friend at the coast. It was such a relaxing weekend full of sun, water, shopping, catching up and some of the prettiest sunsets around.

Although all these things were special and fun, it didn’t really matter what we did this weekend because the best part of the weekend was spending time with a dear friend.  Just like today’s card sentiment says, I really do believe that true friendship is one of God’s greatest gifts. I treasure my friendships dearly and don’t take them for granted one bit!

To a Wild Rose is already a favorite of mine. It is a three step stamp set that can be used with multiple colors, like I used on today’s card, or a single color which I will show you later this week.

The colors in the rose on this card are Lovely Lipstick for the outline, and Grapefruit Grove and Pineapple Punch for the center. I stamped each of those colors for the background flowers using the masking technique.

The leaves were stamped with the outline in Shaded Spruce and filled in with Call Me Clover and Granny Apple Green. I used the coordinating Wild Rose dies to cut out the flower to pop it up on the background.

I made eighteen of these cards for the swap I participated in. It was quite a bit of work with all the masking, but I loved the end result. I hope the ladies who will be receiving this card will like it as well.

Be sure to stop back again later this week for a couple other looks at this particular stamp set.
