As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I am lucky enough to be among the first to see the new catalog. Our new annual catalog comes out June 4 and I cannot wait to show you some of the awesome new products that will be releasing. Sadly, though, before that happens, I need to pay homage and say good-bye to some of the old ones that have served us well.
There was a shock wave that went through the Stampin’ Up! community with this catalog because we found out the oldest stamp set, Lovely as a Tree, was retiring!
This has been a tried and true stamp set for decades and has been so because it is such a versatile set that cane be used for so many occasions. This was oftentimes someone’s first stamp set they buy because of its versatility, myself include.
So, for at least part of this week, I will show you a couple cards using Lovely as a Tree starting with today’s very simple card.
I did some simple block shading using Mint Macaron and stamped the single image tree on top with Memento Black ink.
The bottom of the inside of the card was stamped with the small pine comb image also in the set.
Although I created this as a Birthday card, which is perfect for a masculine birthday card, you can see how you could adapt this exact card into a simple Christmas card as well.
I invite you back on Wednesday when I’ll have another card using this same stamp set that will be a little more involved.
