Whenever I see those Facebook memes that talk about getting older and realizing how we all would rather have a few close friends than a whole slew of acquaintances, I find myself nodding in agreement. It causes me to pause and reflect on how blessed I am in the friendships I have.
When I think about it, I am overwhelmed with gratitude knowing that I don’t just have a few close friends, but God has blessed me with a whole slew of them.
That gratitude deepens still when you go through a bit of a rough patch and you truly realize how many people care about you and are there ready to lift you up and guide you through on their shoulders.
Even if they have no idea how, they want to do everything in their power to help you.
Even if they don’t know the way, they are willing to stop for directions to find the best route.
And once you are back on solid footing and you are able to see the direction you are to take, you can look back over your shoulder and smile hoping your friends know how much you love and appreciate them.
So I raise my glass to my chosen family – you know who you are! – Thanks, friend(s)! You overwhelm me with your kindness, your support, and your love. I couldn’t navigate this thing we call life without you!
Hugs all around!!
After I actually already made today’s card, and wrote this post, I then saw that Global Design Project’s challenge this week was to create a card with Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green.
I was pleasantly surprised and excited that my card already fit that profile with a little Gorgeous Grape thrown in. How serendipitous was that? I love it when things work out in unexpected ways! 🙂
