I’m always looking for ways to be more efficient. I don’t like the word shortcut because that seems to have a negative connotation to it. Shortcuts imply you are skipping steps and in the process, maybe, sacrificing quality. Efficiency, though, means you deliver the same quality product but in a more resourceful way.
Today I am demonstrating my efficiency by sharing one card but using it for two different online challenges.
Fab Friday challenged us this week with a color challenge.
These colors were actually hard for me. I don’t generally lean towards the reds and pinks when I create, so I struggled with this for quite a while, which is why I went to another challenge website hoping to get inspired there.
TGIF Challenges provided us with a sketch for its challenge this week.
At first, this did nothing for me since I also typically don’t do a lot of creating with hearts. Strike two!
I was going to just give up and find other inspiration, but then I decided against it. Just because something is hard doesn’t mean I should throw in the towel. So I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to take both challenges on and came up with today’s card.
Even though the sketch has hearts in it, I decided to change it up and keep the overall concept in mind, but changed up the content.
Not my normal colors or even style of card, but that’s what I love about these challenges.
They really get you thinking about other ways to use your supplies and gets you to work outside your normal boundaries that you tend to place on yourself.
If you ever get in a rut, I highly recommend going out to one of the weekly challenge websites and see what kind of inspiration will strike.
