A little over a year ago, this sweet boy stumbled into my life a bit unexpectedly.
He was a stray that my friend, Angie, was feeding at her house. When Angie went out of town for work, she asked me to check on her cats, including this guy. What I found, though, was he had a horrific sore on the back of his head and neck that made me immediately take him to the vet. And I guess, you could say…the rest is history.
Since Angie already had four cats of her own, she was not in a position to take on another who needed extra care. It took quite a while and a lot of TLC, but Mr. O.G. (short for Orange Guy. Just for the record, Angie named him! :o) ) made a full recovery, with the exception of having a reverse mohawk. His sore healed but it prevented him from being able to grow hair back where his injury was.
He is my constant companion while I’m working (I am lucky enough to be able to work from home). Except when he is talking with some of his friends through the windows.
I did not intend to have another pet. In fact, for the first four months that I took O.G. in, I insisted that it was only on a temporary basis. Apparently, I was the only one who believed that. Now it is hard to imagine what it would be like without this sweet boy around.
I showed you the Happy Tails set in a post last week when I talked about Maggie. As a companion, Stampin Up! also has an adorable cat set called Nine Lives that coordinates with the punch that I used on this card.
Although I made this as a birthday card for one of my cat lover friends, it would be simple enough to change up the sentiment.
If you haven’t figured out by now, four-legged creatures tug pretty hard at my heart strings. I love that Stampin’ Up! has these stamp coordinated sets and tools to share that love with others.
Tell me about your four-legged family members. I’m sure you have some stories to tell.
Until next time…
