Although, for the most part, I am a traditional girl when it comes to Christmas. But when it comes to Christmas cards, I do try to make some using some non-traditional colors.
For the Christmas buffet I had last weekend, I had ten total cards for them to choose from. Five of them were made using traditional red and green Christmas colors. Today’s card was one of the remaining five cards that used something other than those commonly used colors.
I used the new In-color Powder Pink as the main color of this card, with a little Berry Burst thrown in. The images stamped in the background are from the Flurries of Wishes stamp set.
After cutting the frames using the Stitched Shaped framelits, I intertwined them and then cut out a piece at the bottom just wide enough for the sentiment to nestle in.
The snowflake dies were from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits cut from both Powder Pink and Whisper White. The rhinestones in the centers of the snowflakes gives them just enough bling.
I absolutely love the shimmer of the Powder Pink ribbon that gives this card the perfect finishing touch.
To bring in the Berry Burst color of the card base, I stamped the inside with the same color snowflakes.
And don’t forget to make a coordinating envelope.
I know pink is not your typical color for snowflakes, but I still love how this card turned out. I hope you do, too.
