I’m very excited today because I am leaving on a jet plane for a girls’ vacation to Arizona. There are four of us girls who get together at least once a year to vacation together. Our trips usually involve shopping, pool-time, shopping, a few adult beverages, shopping, girl talk, and did I mention, shopping?!? 🙂
As a special little gift, I decided to make each of the girls a set of cards. There is a stamp set in the new 2017 Holiday catalog I thought would be perfect for our trip called Half Full. I’m not much of a wine drinker (I know, I know…I would like to be, but just cannot find a wine that I like), but the other girls are, so I decided to use this stamp set for their cards.
The card I’m showing you today is made with this same stamp set, however, it did not make it in the set I’m giving the girls, but I still wanted to show it to you.
I loved the look of the Wood Texture DSP as the background. It made me think of the wood barrels wine is aged in. I stamped the sentiment directly on the DSP and although it is hard to see, I stamped the grape bunch from one of the other stamps behind the sentiment.
The wine bottle and glass were stamped on the Shimmery White card stock and colored using the Berry Burst ink and a blender pen.
I used the layering circle dies to cut out only the bottom portion of the circle and then fussy cut the top so the bottle and the glass extended beyond the circle. To give the wine in the glass a little more substance (pun intended!), I went over it with the fine tip glue and let it dry for the glossy look.
I also used the layered circle dies for the other two circles on the background behind the focal image.
I repeated the images on the inside of the card, but only colored half the wine bottle on purpose, because, of course, wine with friends shouldn’t last very long. 🙂
As I was perusing this year’s holiday catalog, I saw this set but didn’t think I would use this stamp set very much. But I have to say, once I got to playing with it, I really ended up loving it.
Next week, while I’m enjoying the beautiful Arizona sun, I will still be here to show you the three other cards I made with this set that I did end up giving to the ladies.
Hope to see you back then! Have a fantastic Friday and rest of your weekend!
