I know it is still August and I am certainly not wishing the summer away, but I wanted to play with something other than the Adirondack chair in the Colorful Seasons bundle. So today’s share ended up being very fall-ish.
I love how the leaves are displayed using both the stamps as well as the thinlits from the bundle. I first got this idea from another demo out of Canada, Alison Solven.
For my leaves I used second generation (meaning, I stamped off on scrap paper once before stamping on my project) using Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks. I stamped full strength Pumpkin Pie on top of the same color leaves and cut out the detailed leaf die from Crushed Curry card stock.
The sentiment and enamel shapes are both in Cajun Craze, the same color as the card base.
Did you notice the splattered background? I used the Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze markers to create. Splattering is becoming one of my favorite techniques lately. I think it just adds that little something, something without being over powering.
Before placing the panel that on the Cajun Craze card stock, I stamped the base with another sentiment in the same Cajun Craze color to give it a tone on tone look.
Of course, I stamped a couple of the leaves on the inside as well to match the front.
I added a few layers to the panel staggering them on each corner to give it a little different look than just a straight, same color mat before popping it up on the base using dimensionals.
Although, I am really not ready for fall just yet, I loved how this card came out.
What about you? Are you ready for the change of seasons?
Hope you’re having a great Monday and I hope someone makes you smile!
