Welcome back to another post in my Christmas in July series. This is a series where I’m sharing Christmas cards on Friday’s throughout the month of July. If you missed it, you can find the first post here.
Today I’m sharing a card using the Christmas Stocking Thinlit dies (#141841).
To make the background, I lightly “stamped” the Brick Wall embossing folder (#138288) with Smoky Slate ink before running it through the Big Shot. What I mean by that is I just very lightly rubbed the stamp pad over the raised side of the embossing folder. When you run it through, the indented images have the ink making the embossing stand out even more. Cool, huh?
I then colored the Silver Glimmer Paper (#135314) with Pacific Point and Melon Mambo ink. These are just the colors I chose, but you can really do this with any color. You accomplish this by taking a couple drops of the ink refill of the color of your choice and using your Aqua Painter (#103954) and “paint” the glimmer paper. Because the glimmer paper and water dilutes the color quite a bit, the darker colors tend to work best. You will need to do several coats, letting it dry (or use your heat tool) between coats. You can use as much or as little as you want depending on the saturation of color you want.
I just left the silver glimmer paper in its original form for the third stocking.
I added a little bit of the Silver 1/8″ ribbon for the stocking hangers and attached to the back of the stockings and then popped them up using dimensionals.
The sentiment on the front of the card is from Teeny Tiny wishes (#127802) punched out with the Classic Label Punch (#141491).
As a simple accent for the inside of the card, I used the one single snowflake that was cut from the silver stocking. The inside greeting is from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set.
And just like that you have another adorable Christmas card completed.
Hope you’re enjoying this series. I’ll be back again next week for another Christmas card, so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it.
Thanks for stopping by!
