Another hump day is upon us and I have another card for you that I created for another sketch challenge. This time it is for CAS(E) this sketch (#193).
I also used a technique that Jennifer McGuire showed on her You Tube channel for the background of this card. I glued three separate Whisper White pieces together and then ran one of the Flourish Thinlet dies through the Big Shot purposely not wanting to cut all the way through. This gives the background a little more texture and gives it an inlaid die cut feel without a lot of work. I then sponged over the background ever so lightly with Soft Sky ink.
The flowers were stamped with VersaMark ink on Silver foil paper and embossed with silver embossing powder. I also wanted to have the white flowers embossed, but since Stampin’ Up doesn’t sell embossing powder in all it’s colors, I improvised. I first stamped my flower first in VersaMark ink and then immediately in Soft Sky ink. I then used clear embossing powder and it gave the same end result as if I had Soft Sky embossing powder. A great way to get the embossed look using any color you want.
This sketch was simple, but this is an example of how you can really make a simple sketch into something a little more elaborate.
Until next time…keep on crafting!
