I’ve never been much of a Halloween person. I never went all out on my costumes as a kid and I don’t particularly like costume parties as an adult. But I have to admit, I enjoyed making these cards using the Among the Branches stamp set along with the Woodland embossing folder.
This first card was an extremely simple card. The card base is Smokey Slate and the inside is Whisper White. The trees are sponged with Basic Gray to give them a little more definition. I also sponged and stamped the branch on the inside with Basic Gray. Before adhering the spider web doilies to the back of the circle on the front, I snipped the finials off.
The second card is just a stepped up version of the first. I used the same basic supplies, but just added some matting and some sponging with Tangelo Twist to the outside and inside of the card. I also added the little button and some linen thread to the front circle. When I embossed my card stock, I was more careful on how I positioned the branches which allowed me to stamp my owl a little higher on the card.
The third card I saw on Pinterest and just had to give it a try. It is using the same brayer technique I used on my seashell card last post and some masking for the moon (or is it a setting sun??) along with some layering. It looks difficult to make, but it really isn’t.
Until next time…keep on crafting!
